MADE: Homemade Teriyaki

Teriyaki is such a tasty dish and so simple to make! A lot of you will have probably tried it before but I thought I'd share the recipe with you. My mum used to make this all the time when I was living at home, it's fantastic with salmon and rice or as a marinade to use on chicken on the barbecue/under the grill.

It's very simple.

All you need is:
Salmon/chicken - whatever you're using
4 tbsp soy
2 tbsp honey
2 tbsp mirin
1/2 tsp dried chilli
pinch of dried chilli flakes
1 crushed garlic clove

I usually use a load of veg and serve with rice.
for example:
1/2 pepper, diced
4 or 5 sugarsnap peas, chopped
2 baby sweetcorn, chopped
1/2 onion, diced
2 mushrooms, diced

1. Marinate your meat/fish in the sauce in a small bowl/dish for around half an hour to an hour.
2. Meanwhile, fry your onion and pepper on a low heat in a little oil. Add a tbsp of the marinade from the bowl/dish your meat/fish is marinating in. Add crushed garlic.
3. After a few minutes, ad the sweetcorn, sugarsnaps and mushrooms.
4. Swap the meat/fish with the veg - meat/fish in pan to cook, veg in marinade.
5. When the meat/fish is about done, add the vegetables back into the pan to heat through.
6. Serve with rice
