LIFE: 10 for 2013

At the start of this month, I made the big life change of moving back home to live with my Parents for three months before travelling; so far, so good despite the commuting to and from work, meaning early starts! Vicky and Luka (and me, technically, as I was staying with them) had a bit of an alcohol fuelled get together and night out to bid farewell to the place we had called home for the last few years. I told you about our idea of things to do before the end of 2013 and just recently I've been thinking more and more about it. It's nice to have a list of goals, even if it's things that don't seem too likely - you never know, you may surprise yourself with random bursts of spontaneity and complete your goals. As human beings, we are driven by targets, goals and deadlines, especially throughout education and as we move into the working world, so why not enjoy ourselves with our own list of things to do?

We saw this idea at the Riverside in Sheffield and although theirs was 'things to do before I die', I thought targeting this year to encourage our friends to have a think was nice, after all, they have all just finished uni and this is a massive time in their lives where things are going to change so much; it's hard to keep focus sometimes when things flip like this.

So, everybody had a sheet, tried to have a think of some things they wanted to do and we all attempted to read each others out, bearing in mind a lot of alcohol had been consumed by this point.

Some of them were hilarious and obviously not serious, but I was having a serious think about this and I still am now; I want to make sure I've achieved the things I want to by the end of the year, not just float through life hoping something okay happens.

Before the end of 2013 I want to...

1. Play 'Captain' of a boat at some point during my travels
2. Walk Sydney Harbour Bridge
3. Do yoga on a beach
4. Get abs
5. Watch the sun rise and the sun set over the sea
6. Go to a festival - I haven't been to one since Beach Break in 2011(?)
7. Go blonde - I have wanted to do this for YEARS and always chickened out
8. Start and finish A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Byrson - I feel like I know nothing historical and want to learn more!
9. Get another tattoo
10. Have 'a moment' where I feel completely content like everything has fallen in to place

Some will definitely happen, some...maybe not but who knows.

This may seem silly, but honestly, have a think what you could do, what you could be capable of; you are in control of your own happiness and your own destiny. The world is such a big place and your life is yours to mould - experience things, explore different places and do the things you want to do.

Make a list of the 10 things you want to do before the end of 2013 and let me have a read; I'd love to know.
