3 Day Juice Cleanse - Day 2

I won't lie to you, day 1 was really difficult but day 2 is looking slightly more appetising as I'm allowed snacks and extra juices in between.

On the menu for day 2:

Breakfast - hot water with a thick slice of lemon and a Paradiso - 1 lime, 1 mango, 1 pineapple, 5 oz low fat natural yoghurt and 1oz fresh root ginger

Verdict: Compared to day 1 juices, this was absolutely incredible. I love fruit juices anyway and I really love natural yoghurt with ginger so this juice was perfect for me.

Mid morning snack - a handful each of raisins, dried apricots and fresh, unsalted nuts and a Bunnies' Bonanza - 3 carrots, 2 dark cabbage leaves, 1 celery stick, 1 handful of coriander and 1 handful of parsley.

Verdict: I usually have a mid morning snack of 30g of raisins and nuts anyway so this was a doddle. I opted out of this juice - after the trauma of yesterdays awful juices, I couldn't face anything involving cabbage again.

Lunch - A large salad of green leaves, radishes, celery, sunflower seeds, lemon juice and olive oil. Have a herb or weak Indian tea with honey (NO milk)  and a Long-life Lemonade - 3 carrots, 3 radishes, 2 apples, 1 lemon, 1 beetroot with leaves and 2 tbsp sauerkraut

Verdict: Lunch was lovely. I did alter the salad though and had pine nuts instead of sunflower seeds. I also threw on a few caramelised onions and some crumbled feta too. I also popped in a few tinned new potatoes too as they are very low in calories. I had lemon tea and didn't have the Long-Life Lemonade juice as I was still full from this mornings and my mid morning snack.

Mid afternoon snack - A Lemon Express - 3 apples, 1 lemon and 4oz white grapes

Verdict: This juice sounds lovely but as I opted out of having the final juice of day 1, I made that one up to have as my mid afternoon snack instead - 2 apples, 3 pairs, 12 grapes and 2 pineapple slices. I also a few fresh strawberries aswell.

Dinner - A large jacket potato drizzled with olive oil and black pepper. A herb/weak Indian tea and a Spring Clean Tonic - 3 carrots, 1 large green, 1/2 cucumber, 1/4 pepper, handful of watercress and a handful spinach

Verdict: I loveee jacket potatoes and decided to have a sweet potato instead with the olive oil and black pepper. Instead of having the Sping Clean Tonic, I opted for a nicer dinner - I had three tablespons of the savoury mince from the cottage pie my mum had made and some baked beans with my sweet potato, bizarre I know!

Evening snack - A mixture of dried fruits and unsalted nuts - you can also have as much fresh fruit as you wish.

Verdict: As I had already had dried fruit and nuts as a morning snack, I decided to just enjoy fruit this evening - I had a mix of  strawberries, raspberries and blueberries.

All in all, day two was MUCH better. The juices were nicer and I didn't feel completely sick to my stomach at the thought of cabbage juices. Despite adapted my meals, I felt this was a better way for me to try and stay on track with the cleanse. Obviously, the whole idea of the cleanse is to eat and drink this way to detox your body, but by changing it a little the way I have done, I feel like it might not 100% detox me as it should do if I followed the actual 3 day menu but I think it will still have a similar effect without making.
