No Yeast Bread

I've said before, when making my Yeast Free Pizza, my Mum has a pretty bad intolerance to yeast. It makes it rather difficult to buy certain foods as sooo much has yeast in, seriously you don't realise quite how many products contain yeast!

Bread is another annoyance and something my Mum misses majorly. She will sometimes allow herself a croissant or few slices of 'proper' bread but it makes her so ill that sometimes, it's just not worth the upset! So, I've decided to keep trying different yeast free recipes, bread included, to suit my Mum but I've actually discovered, yeast free stuff is actually pretty tasty! Have a try and see what you think.

All you need is:
360g (3 cups) whole wheat flour
4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
360ml water (or rice milk 0 works with any liquid)
45ml oil (any liquid fat such as melted milk free marg, vegetable oil or olive oil)

First things first, preheat your oven to 200 (fan)

Mix the liquids in a jug

Mix the dry ingredients in a seperate bowl - DO NOT sift the flour

Add the liquids to the dry ingredients until well mixed - you may not need all of the liquid depending on how humid the air is in your kitchen. You will know because the dough should be moist but NOT sticky.

It will take a few minutes for the flour to completely absorb the liquid so don't add anything else to it.

Shape into a bread-like shape and place onto a baking tray - It helps to oil your hands a little to shape the bread. Score the top of the loaf - I did mine in a criss corss shape - this prevents any splitting.

Bake the bread for 40 minutes until golden on top.

Can't beat the smell of fresh bread, mmm!

If there are any yeast free bread recipes you can recommend, please do so!
