My first FIVE THINGS of the New Year; I still can't get my head around it now being 2014! I've had a great past week with the girls in Sydney and from this week onwards intend to sunbathe and sightsee as much as possible. This week, reflecting on the past year has made me appreciative of the little things in life even more.

1. The New Years fireworks over the harbour - not really little but the feeling I felt watching them was overwhelming and made me think 'wow, I've really turned 2013 around for myself'

2. Laying on the beach in the late afternoon - snoozing and watching the surfers on Bondi was brilliant. I love the late afternoon sun by the ocean, it's such a beautiful time of day.

3. Being with the girls - it's lovely being around Hannah and Nikki again. Since we moved out of our second year University house, our lives have been so hectic and we probably haven't spent as much time together as we should have; it's lovely living together again, even if for a short time.

4. Planning - something I need in my life. I've realised more and more that I like to know what I'm doing, but more importantly, I like having things to look forward to.

5. Looking out of the window, walking down there street; wherever I am thinking 'I'm in Sydney. I live in Australia.' - I still can't get my head around it but it's incredible. I do wish so much that I could see my parents but I only have a few more months before they will join me for a little holiday and see how amazing this country is!
